Assistant Football Coach Cass Zimmer spotted a bull moose spying on the Broadus football practice, last Saturday morning. While the team was preparing to snap the ball, Zimmer said he looked up and saw the moose crossing from the clinic to behind the elementary school. Zimmer exclaimed "There's a moose", with the players initially ignoring him, perhaps with the thought he was messing with them, until laying eyes on the young bull themselves. As we reported several weeks ago, the collection box at the Post Office in Broadus has been removed temporarily for construction on the sidewalk outside the post office. According to personnel with the USPS, when the work is complete the box will be returned to its location. The box removal is not associated with the widely reported collection box removal at many other post offices around the country....
The Broadus School Board met last Monday for their monthly meeting, where they discussed the adoption of the school reopening plan and the 2020-21 school budget, as well as a variety of other items. Members of the board present at the meeting included Rob Jones, Raquel Mader, Waylon Billing, Patrick Emmons, Shasta Madsen, Dan Johnson; Amanda Zimmer attended the meeting online. According to Montana State University Extension, animal owners can use estate planning tools to ensure their pets continue to receive proper care if the owner becomes incapacitated or dies. The Broadus High School Rough Stock Challenge, held during the fair, showcased a host of talent of up and coming rodeo athletes. Quanah Glade of Miles City won top honors in the saddle bronc riding with a 74-point ride.
