    The long standing tradition of the Powder River Working Horse Show continued this past Saturday, as riders and horses demonstrated their skills across a variety of practical events, which tested both rider and horse alike. The 2019 Working Horse Show was put on by last year's winner, Taegan Schaffer.     Professional Bullrider and hometown lad Jess Lockwood climbed back to the top of the PBR standings on Sunday, after winning the Express Ranches Classic, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lockwood led the pack earlier this year after back to back wins in New York and Chicago, until a broken collarbone sidelined the young man through the spring. The show started with an unplanned "pasture roping" of an escaped yearling heifer needed for the Working Ranch Project.     BILLINGS – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has scheduled a wolf trapping certification class for Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, in Billings. The certification course is free and open to individuals ages 11 and older.     The Powder River County Sheriff’s Office responded to several incidents over the last week, including the apparent theft of a Belle Creek Volunteer Fire Department pickup. The Ford pickup, which had a wildland firefighting spray rig in the bed, was eventually located and returned.
