The Grand Champion Market Hog was e...

By PR Extension Office Sixteen pies were entered in the pie-baking contest at the 2023 county fair. One young contestant, Kaitlyn Wagner, from Hulett, Wyoming, traveled with her dad the farthest to bring her custard pie. The only rule in the pie-baking event was that pies needed to be made completely from scratch. Powder River County Commissioners Lori Fortner, Lee Randall and John Olson judged the event which they found very tasty and extremely difficult. Fortner wished for more categories to better recognize all the entries as there was every...

Dear Billy, I read your recent article about the EMS and traffic in this area. I have written to the Department of Transportation twice and they said they were going to analyze the situation. It is tragic that 5 young people have had to die on Highway 212 in the last year and a half, and there is not any indication of any improvement in the future. It is 100 miles from Ashland to Alzada with not 1 passing lane. I used to go to basketball games in Broadus, it is 30 miles to my turnoff and I would count 30 semis in the 30 miles. If I go toward...
