The changes include updated pumps for the lagoon, and the addition of riff raff rock to one of the settling ponds. The updates come as the Montana Department of Environmental Quality continually tightens its standards for sewer lagoons; the Broadus sewer system has seen few updates since the 70s. The original pumps for the lagoon were installed as far back as the 70s, according to R...

  • Insights & Observations

    Jul 25, 2019

By Joe Stuver A lot of folks are wondering how the heck I managed to shoot myself. I’ve also noted, though, that my stupid causes a lot of anxiety for those who care for me. We Stuver “boys” have indeed kept our Guardian Angels pretty dang busy. Come to think of it though, that also transcends into the Patten side of the family. As in most stories, I have to start at the beginning. (You didn’t really think you were going to get off that easy, did you?) With the last back surgery, the installation of an electronic spinal therapy device, I’m act...

Thursday, July 27, 1989 Belle Creek district leads county in valuation decline Belle Creek District 22 was the hardest hit by the near 3 million dollar drop in the county’s valuation, which stands to reason as the decline was primarily caused by a decrease in oil and mineral net proceeds and royalties. The taxable valuation for the Belle Creek District, according to Powder River County Assessor Larry Richards, fell from $12,358,549 to $9,772,165. Most other districts’ valuation either fell or increased by only small margins, according to Ric...
