Arthur (Art) C. Brix passed away at his home in the Cispus Valley, WA on May 15, 2024, at the age of 72. Art was born in Whitefish, MT on June 6, 1951. His parents were Fred and Leona (Padgett) Brix. In 1953, his sister, Evelyn, was born. The family moved to Randle, WA in the early 1960's, where Art went to school and graduated from White Pass High School in 1969. Dear Editor: I just want to share a most enlightening experience from the 4th of July parade with you and your readers. I was riding the Auxiliary float in the parade. It was the second trip around. We were on the street somewhere between the ambulance buildings and the fire hall and I was facing the east side of the street. As our float passed by while the many kids scrambled for candy, one young onlooker (a lad kindergarten age or younger) stood very attentively with his hand over his heart in salute to the flags.
