    The Powder River County 100 Year Celebration, 4th of July, and All Class Reunion were rolled into one big four-day event over the past weekend. Nearly 500 Broadus High graduates registered for the festivities, along with their families and many others who had not graduated locally, or had not registered.     Locations near Powderville Receive over 6" of rain in one day Mizpah Creek in July is normally a dry affair, yet on Friday, July 5th, it turned into a raging torrent, after 6 inches of rain fell on localized areas of the drainage over a matter of a few hours.   • Community Healthcare Pilot Project Coming to Powder River County

    By Kesa Copps On July 4th, Powder River First Responders announced a Community Integrated Healthcare Pilot Project. This pilot project is one of five in the State of Montana. The PR First Responders are the only volunteer based service to be chosen for this project, and we are also the only location that does not have a local hospital. This program does not take the place of the clinic, ambulance, doctor visits, or any other healthcare the person has now, but helps to fill in holes which may occur in the healthcare system.     Twenty Eight runners from the 4K for the Cure Relay Boston Team arrived at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on July 2nd to refuel on food and rest, during their run across the country. Pastor Julie Long, who helped host the group, said the runners were mostly from the east coast and Midwest, with one young man traveling from England for the run. This Sunday, July 14th, twenty-nine bicyclists are scheduled to arrive in Broadus to stay overnight at the Lutheran Church. They are the Seattle-bound group of the 2019 “4 K for Cancer” program of the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. This will be our 4th year to host these dedicated and admirable young adults.
