    December 31st, 2017 marked the last day the iconic Montana Bar in Broadus was open for business. That span of time is due to end as new owners Anne and Willie Gergen have the bar set up to reopen this Friday. The Gergens recently purchased the bar from previous owners, Floyd and Donna Mitchell.     The Broadus School Board met Friday evening for a special meeting, to discuss ongoing litigation regarding a former teacher. Jeff Weldon, Legal Counsel for Broadus Schools, and lawyer from Felt, Martin, Frazier, and Weldon, P.C. from Billings, was on hand to update the Board regarding two specific cases. Both cases were brought forward by former Broadus Fifth grade teacher Becky Kane; her teaching contract was not renewed at the April 2018 School Board Meeting.   • "4K For the Cure" Relay Runners coming through town

    By Julie Long Next Tuesday, July 2nd, twenty eight college-aged relay runners are scheduled to arrive for an overnight stay at the Lutheran Church. They represent the “4K for Cancer” program of the Ulman Cancer Foundation for Young Adults. This relay group is Team Boston. They began their run across America from San Francisco on June 16th and are scheduled to arrive in Boston August 3rd. She will represent the United States in the Golden Shears World Champion Shearing and Wool Handling Competition. There are two days practice prior to the all nations competition on July 3rd. Irene Lenore Lakson Gardner was born on March 8th, 1929 in Lead, SD, the first daughter of Albert and Martha (Palo) Lakson.
