Helena, Mont. – On Tuesday, June 13th, the Montana Department of Livestock (MDOL) received confirmation of a case of terrestrial (non-bat) rabies in the state. The rabies-infected skunk was captured in Powder River County. One dog was exposed to the rabid skunk and is being managed for exposure. A basketball tournament featuring up to ten high school boys teams will be held this weekend in Broadus. Teams include Broadus, Forsyth, St. Labre, Sidney, Dotson, Plevna, Lame Deer, Savage, and teams from Wyoming including Wright and Tongue River. The local cancer is hosting a dessert auction on the 4th of July in Broadus. Desserts will be located in the Senior Center, where a silent auction will be held. The live auction will take then place under the tent in front of the Big Sky Bar, beginning at 1:30 pm.
