By PR Extension Office “Not surprisingly, grasshopper populations are increasing in our area,” according to MSU Powder River Extension Agent Mary Rumph. “Once grasshoppers are adults and have entered the yard and garden, management is extremely challenging. It often becomes a priority of choosing what is most valuable to you.” For example, Rumph said to consider focusing on the most vulnerable trees and plants for management (and those of importance). “Also understand that treating an area once is seldom enough…you might need to re-treat seve...

By Dee Mobley We’ve been a few months pokey in saying thank you for a profitable 2020 to all those who make the St Vincent de Paul store a blessing to a wide area of folks. Without donations (many of which are NEW, with tags), the store would not BE. Without customers, ditto. Without our volunteers and manager, we’d be kaput. THANK YOU ALL. Now that COVID is waning, St V’s is about back to “normal”. And normal includes a back room that is so full that working space is marginal. So we ask for a temporary moratorium until August on donations...

By Julie Long Thirteen students gathered last week at the Boyes Community Hall for 3 mornings last week for this year's Vacation Bible School sponsored by Our Savior's Lutheran Church. As usual, it was an energetic time of Bible story, music, crafts and outdoor fun. The extreme heat didn't squash any enthusiasm. Pastor Julie Long and Molly Lloyd led the children as we focused on the 3 main festivals in the church year: Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. Singing Christmas carols is fun anytime of...
