  • Museum to Remain Closed Until Phase 3

    Jun 11, 2020

Courtesy PR Historical Museum Although typically open the first week of June, the museum board has voted not to allow public access until Montana reaches Phase 3 of the reopening plan. This decision is based on the limitations of our facility, sanitation requirements and most importantly, the safety of our many vulnerable volunteers. Limited, pre-scheduled, private tours/viewings can still be arranged by calling 436-2474 or 436-2352. Unfortunately, due to current COVID-19 restrictions the Homesteader Days event scheduled for June 15-19 has...

  • School Board Discusses a Variety of Topics at June Meeting

    Jun 11, 2020

The Broadus School Board met Monday evening, with a weighty agenda planned for the evening. The board heard from Activities Director Mike Richards regarding replacing the majority of the lockers in the high school locker rooms. The lockers in the larger or traditional boys locker room (which now switches back and forth year to year to comply with Title IX guidelines) has the original lockers from the 1970s, which are rather worse for wear after being slammed shut and stuffed full of gear by generations of athletes. Mike mentioned that he had...

  • High, swift water conditions create risks for recreationists

    Jun 11, 2020

Courtesy MT FWP The tragic drowning of a Great Falls man who was swimming in Belt Creek near the Sluice Boxes area last Wednesday is a good reminder for swimmers, boaters, floaters and anglers to use caution in and near the water. Water levels are higher and swifter in rivers throughout Montana due to spring runoff, and recreationists should be aware of extra risks that come with high flows.
