    A group of Broadus teachers including Roma Rogge, Connie Barnhart, and Paulie Isaak packed up their teaching supplies and looked towards their future retirements. The three teachers combine for 124 years of teaching experience, having all taught for at least 40 years. We sat down with each of the teachers to try and gain some insight into their longevity. They battled back and managed to get to the divisional meet, where they ran well enough to get 6th place and qualify for state without our fastest sprinter, Johnny Rich-ards, was was out with mono.   • Brown Wins Match Bronc Ride At Bucking Horse

    Houston Brown, 2017 Broadus Grad, won the Match Bronc Ride on May 22nd at the world famous Bucking Horse Sale in Miles City. Brown, age 23, won $9,375 in the event, which featured 40 of the top saddle bronc riders from around the world, including 22 of the 25 top ranked riders. Houston made an 85.5 point ride on Burch Rodeo Company's Bubble Bath to advance from round 1, then secured his win with a 91.5 point ride on J Bar J's In The Lu.     By PR Extension Office Annual weeds are skyrocketing with the moisture received in May, according to MSU Powder River Extension Agent Mary Rumph. The weed of the week is Catchweed (Boraginaceae). “Samples of catchweed that I’ve seen are about 4 foot tall,” said Rumph. “It is often unnoticed until it becomes tall enough to trip you!     A collection of local artists filled the High School Auditorium with their art, tunes, and song last Tuesday during the Students Against Destructive Decision's (or SADD) Art and Music Fest.     The 2022 Bowhunter Education Class for Montana youth and adult bowhunters will be offered in Broadus on the following dates: Saturday, June 25, 2022: from 12:00 to 7:00 pm; and Sunday, June 26, 2022: from 12:00 to 7:00 pm. Attendance on both days is required. Youths need to bring a parent with them on the first day, to sign permission slips. This year’s picture was a wreath of Buddy Poppies surrounding a phrase, “Lest We Forget”. The Powder River County school district students did a very good job this year.
