The Broadus school board trustees met for their May meeting on May 20th, a week later than originally set forth due to a lack of quorum. The board first heard from Jayce Schroeder, incoming Student Body President for the Class of 2025, who introduced himself to the board. The results of the school board election were read, with Waylon Billing garnering 285 votes, 200 for Bobbi Myers, and 76 for Katherine Myers. The Elementary Field Day was held on Monday, April 20th. While the field day concept was a departure from the elementary track meet of old, trepidatious parents who may have not looked forward to the change were generally satisfied once they witnessed the amount of fun had by the kids during the events. The state qualifying members of the Broadus Hawk track team departed for state last week, making the drive to Great Falls on Thursday. The team was greeted with cold and windy weather on Friday for the first day of the meet – not too big of a surprise considering Great Falls regularly makes the list of "Top Windiest Cities In The US". The primary election will be held Tuesday, June 4th. The Broadus, Broadus North, and Broadus South precincts will be open from 7 am to 8 pm, and the polling places will be in the courthouse.
