The PRCDHS Class of 2021, donned in green and gold gowns, entered the gym last Saturday for their last time as students. On Monday, May 17th, the Broadus golf team left early for the State Golf Meet, to be held at Riverside Country Club, along the Gallatin River on the north side of Bozeman. The private club features an 18 hole course, dining, raquet sports, and a pool for its members. A strong contingent of Broadus athletes qualified for the State Meet at last weekend’s Divisional Meet in Laurel. Jaxon Bilbrey, 9th grader, qualified in the 400 meter with a fifth place finish, as well as the 4x400 meter relay with fellow freshmen Matt Hansen and Eli Heacock. May 27, 1921 Wagon is bogged; dancers rescued While fording Powder River last Saturday night, a wagonload of young people from Pumpkin Creek became bogged in the quicksand when in midstream. The river’s channel was only about 75 yards across and was shallow with the running head only about a foot deep, so that the 14 occupants of the wagon were rescued without difficulty, cowboys coming to their aid with saddle horses.
