    Last weekend, the Lady Hawk golf team achieved something which hasn't been accomplished by a girls team from Broadus. Until now. Their second place trophy from state golf is the first time a Broadus girls team has achieved a second place trophy at state in any sport. Last year the girls golf team won third, and in 2014 and 2015 the girls volleyball team won third.     As the 21 Seniors of the Broadus Class of 2023 marched into the gym in their graduation on Saturday, friends and family looked on proudly as the class took their seats and began the ceremony which would transition the students, one hour and forty minutes later, into full-fledged high school graduates.     The Broadus Track team had an excellent Divisional tournament, as they qualified 12 members of the team for state events, winning multiple events in the process. The boys team placed 2nd, while the girls placed 5th, scoring 100 and 57 points, respectively.     FORSYTH, Mont.: The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Sletten Construction will continue efforts on the Southeast Montana Bridge Preservation project.     HELENA – By order of the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission, the hunting with hounds of all black bears will close in Black Bear Management Unit (BMU) 700 one-half hour after sunset today, Monday, May 22, following the harvest of the two bear quota.     May 25, 1923 $200 Mile Cost of Wire Fence A fence constructed of barbed wire and cedar posts stands a farmer $200 a mile. No less authorities than Gene Michaels, stockman of Moorhead, and W.J. Schoeder, manager of the local branch of the Yellowstone Lumber company, assisted us in the calculation. A spool of barbed wire weighs between 75 and 80 pounds and when strung out measures 80 rods or 1,320 feet. A rod is 5 ½ yards or 16 ½ feet.     It was a fun filled afternoon on May 9th as the Powder River Conservation District (PRCD) staff introduced the fifth grade students to Wooly and Belle, Targhee and Suffolk cross ewes. These sheep were used to instruct the kids about the numerous uses of wool and sheep within the agricultural industry.
