The Broadus boys sealed up their first in school history "three-peat" district title on Saturday in Miles City. 2023 was the fourth year in a row that Broadus has been to a 4C District Championship game, coming in second in 2020. The Broadus Volunteer Fire Department recently joined forces with the PR County Road Department in procuring a Cat D6R Dozer through the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation. The VFD has been working to attain a dozer through the DNRC program for more than a year, and when this particular Air Force surplus dozer with 1,600 hours of total use came up in the program, the VFD jumped at the opportunity. Brothers from Forsyth, Miles City, Broadus and Ekalaka enjoyed a meal and celebrated a "Table Lodge" worshiping John the Baptist and John the Epostle. Teams are walking in all kinds of weather in the Steps for Charity competition this year. Nothing deters the walkers, not rain, nor snow, nor sleet and ice, well maybe a few are daunted by frigid temperatures. “I got more steps by parking my car a long ways from the gym,” explained one team member who enjoyed the district basketball games last weekend. On February 5, 2023, the Liscomb Mountain 4-H club met for their fifth meeting of the 4-H year. They discussed the new fair theme of “4-H Sews the Seeds of Success” and the new fair dates, July 25-28. The club also talked about doing concessions at the upcoming Amanda Gaskill Memorial basketball tournament. The club is thinking about selling breakfast and lunch items throughout the games. On the evening of February 15, 2023, Sally passed away at Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, MT. Sally was 79 years old. We were very much looking forward to celebrating her 80th birthday on February 24th. Sally Ann Borla was born in the mining town of Sunrise, Wyoming on February 24, 1943. She was the third child and second daughter of Joseph and Esther Borla.
