    The April 27th, 2023 edition will be our final paper printed in Miles City with the Miles City Star, as Adams Publishing, owners of the Star and Yellowstone Papers, shutters the newspaper printing facilities in Miles City. Future editions of the Powder River Examiner will be printed at the Black Hills Pioneer, in Spearfish, SD. Readers of the Examiner in the Broadus area should see little difference in delivery, with current plans to remain with Thursday delivery for Broadus and the mail routes which have had Thursday delivery in the past....

    In early 1929, the Three Circle Roundup near Birney was underway. The range included the Forest Reserve near Poker Jim, where the Brown Cattle Company (owners of the Three Circle) held a large grazing permit. Repping for several Otter Creek outfits on this particular roundup was Floyd "Hawk" Schaeffer.     Temperatures in the 30s and 40s greeted golfers as Broadus hosted a competition, at Rolling Hills Golf Course, April 22. The meet featured teams from Broadus, Absarokee, Baker, Colstrip, Fairview, Wibaux, Richey/ Lambert, and Lame Deer.     Lawrence Anton Capra, 94, passed away at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, MT on April 20th, 2023. He was born August 10th, 1928 in the family home at Boyes, MT. He was first child born to John Baptist (Jack) Capra and Lydia Rose (Chiesa) Capra.     Broadus Track competed in one of two scheduled meets last week due to weather delays, and the meet at Laurel in which they competed was shut down early due to weather. Montana’s fickle spring weather cut the Laurel Iron Horse track meet short last Tuesday, after a hail storm buffeted the area in the midst of the meet. The 12s team, composed of 5th and 6th graders coached by Kimber Emmons and Amanda Hodge, went undefeated on the day and won the Gold Bracket.
