    By Lana Smith The Artisan Society, Art & Soul, will be hosting a colored pencil workshop, taught by renowned artist, Eileen Nistler of Upton, Wyoming. Competing against three other schools, the boys placed first and the girls’ team, second. The boys earned 25 medals on their way to the win, including eight first place finishes.     So far this High School Golf season, snow and cold has hampered many of the events, with several competitions being postponed. Last week the Broadus Golf Team was able to play in the Shepherd Varsity Meet at Eagle Rock Golf Course in Billings. It is a perennial, with creeping rhizomes, extending horizontally and vertically, creating large dense patches according to MSU Extension Agent Mary Rumph.     Over the winter, a group of shooters competed in the State Air Rifle Postal Match, shooting once a week against competitors across Montana. In the 9-10 year old group, 51 shooters competed statewide. Local competitors did well, with Reuben Kinzer placing 9th, Darren VerWolf 26th, and Justin Aye 32nd.     The Broadus Track team competed at Sidney Meet in Lambert last week, with the Twilight Meet in Colstrip canceled due to weather. Broadus Head Coach Jerry Coulter said the meet in Lambert was one of the toughest of the year, with competition from much larger schools such as Miles City, Sidney, and Glendive, and around 100 competitors in each event. “The meet was difficult, to say the least,” Coulter commented.
