  • Legislative Report

    Eric Moore|Apr 11, 2019

Health Care, the 900# gorilla. The 2019 legislature is in the home stretch, and I, for one, am anxious to wrap up our work and get home. There are crops to be planted and calves to be branded. At the end of March, the legislature voted on one of the most important and controversial bills of the session. That was whether, and in what form, the state should retain or discontinue the Medicaid expansion bill passed in 2015. I spend a goodly amount of time researching this issue, and I now know more about medicaid waivers and federal healthcare law...

  • Tales from Old Mexico

    Joe Stuver|Apr 11, 2019

Powder River County and Southeastern Montana are slowly transitioning from a most brutal late winter and early spring into a wonderful, near full-blown spring. The temperatures remain warm and nice, but we haven’t quite yet reached that soft, warmth that true spring brings. The green grass is starting, and with a few more warm days and with more moisture predicted, hopefully ranchers can step back from their feeding chores. The bird life is slowly also returning. The raucous, beautiful blue jays are getting ready for cooler climes. Thursday I w...

  • 24 Hours of Prayer at Faith Bible

    Apr 11, 2019

By Tom Herzog As Christians we are blessed to have special access to God through prayer. With the Easter celebration only days away, we want to focus on this blessing of prayer. Though we don’t understand just how prayer works, we do know that it works and that we are instructed to do it. To highlight this gift, and to live out God’s command, we will once again hold 24 Hours of Prayer at Faith Bible. We will have 30-minute time blocks for an ind...

  • SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

    Broadus Schools Superintendent Jim Hansen|Apr 11, 2019

Every winter most of us look forward to spring with eager anticipation of a new beginning. This is also the time of year students begin to think about summer vacation. Teachers attempt to keep students engaged academically, and everyone tries to schedule activities as we dash for the finish line. Often times frustration ensues; we complain to our spouse or friends and admire the greener grass on the other side of the fence. Most of us have been guilty of this behavior. Instead of being critical and dissatisfied, maybe we need to reflect on the...
