The National Weather Service will be holding a Severe Weather Spotter training course at the courthouse on Tuesday, May 10th. The two hour course Skywarn training course is free to attend and will cover subjects such as thunderstorm basics, identifying potential severe weather, storm structure, the damage caused by severe weather, as well as how to properly report information about severe weather. Theodore Richard (Ted) Smith, age 94, passed away and went to be with Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, Montana. Ted was born to Carl and Inez Kelsey Smith on October 7, 1927 in Miles City in the Darcy Hospital, the only hospital at that time. This small yellow flowering annual is one of the earliest weeds to appear in the spring according to Powder River Extension Agent Mary Rumph.
