    By Kerry Gardner We started the Powder River Health Fair 27 years ago. Over the years we’ve had to make adjustments, and once again we will do that to make this event happen. We have been in contact with Billings Clinic Lab concerning our blood draw and they are asking us to draw only 125 people per day, which is more than they allowed last year. We will draw on Wednesday, April 19 and draw at Hammond on Thursday, April 20 and finish up with any that are unable to come on the 19th in Broadus, as long as we don’t go over the 125 number per day...

    The Broadus finished their season one game short of playing in the State Championship, over the weekend in Billings. The Hawks crushed Lone Peak in the first round, lost in a very close game to Big Sandy (who would go on to take second), and then fell to Fairview in consolation bracket action. It belonged to the Brown Land and Cattle Company's 4D Ranch near Birney and had been reported stolen. Academic Olympics is supported by the Southeast Montana Association of School Superintendents (SEMASS) and run by educators in Southeastern Montana. This year Mid-Rivers Communication helped with the scholarship given to the top 2 scores.     Powder River County 4-H shooters scored well at Bozeman during the State Shoot. Results shown are in the shooter’s respective age group. Grayson Arithson shot 4th out of 28 in the 3D archery bow hunter class with a 189 and 9xs, and placed 2nd out of 34 in the target category, with a 299 and 20xs. Becca Aye placed 21st in target, with a 279 and 5xs. Justin Aye placed 3rd of out 4 shooters in the limited bow target class, with a 224 and 2xs.     By Jacy Collins On March 7, 2023 the Junior High Academic Olympics team competed in Miles City at Miles Community College. The junior high competed against 18 other schools from our area. Academic Olympics is supported by the Southeast Montana Association of School Superintendents (SEMASS) and run by educators in Southeastern Montana.
