    The Hawk basketball team went into the Southern C Divisional Tournament in Miles City as the top seed from the 4C, which put them up against Plenty Coups, the #4 seed from the 6C in the first game of the tournament.   • Vehicle Rollover Claims One Life

    On Thursday, March 3rd at 7:20 pm, a fatal crash was reported on the upper end of Bay Horse Road near the Allen turnoff, in Southern Powder River County. The single vehicle rollover claimed the life of Tammy Holbrook, age 59, a resident of northern Campbell County, Wyoming. Holbrook, who was the sole human occupant of the vehicle, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. As of Monday, a dog which was also in the vehicle had not been located.   • Broadus Records 87 Degree Temperature Shift In 96 hours

    The local area experienced dramatic temperature changes during the month of February. The official weather station at the courthouse in Broadus recorded an 87 degree shift in temperatures in a four day span, with a 59 degree high on February 19th, and the mercury dipping to -28 on the 23rd. Reports from around the area came in of temperatures as low as -35 on February 23rd. The -28 low on February 23rd was a record low for that date, beating the previous record of -26 recorded a century prior, on February 23rd of 1922. The high for the month...

    March 10, 1922 Two Wolves are Killed by Thex Two wolves from a bunch of five that have been preying on livestock in the Otter Creek country were killed a few days ago by Calvin Thex. His brother, Charles Thex, is known to have lost at least seven head of cattle to the wolves and other ranchmen in the vicinity have had losses from the same source. In the 95 lb division, Braydn Stoddard-Terrill was pinned by Ty Laslovich of Chief Joseph Middle School, as well as Ethan Krebs of Colstrip.
