    The Broadus School Board Trustees, with all members present, met for their March meeting on Monday night, in front of a crowd of over a dozen educators, parents, and other citizens, many of whom were on hand for the agenda item regarding the implementation of a modified school week.     For the first time in school history, the Broadus Hawks have won back to back divisional basketball tournaments. That feat was accomplished last Saturday in Lockwood, as the Hawks took out Melstone to bring home the title in the championship. The Hawks swept into the divisional tournament as the #1 seed from the 4C, and faced Plenty Coups in the first round of the tournament, on Wednesday evening.     By Jim Kolka The Broadus wrestling club had a great hometown showing on March 4th. Broadus had 35 wrestlers competing, with around 165 total in the tournament.   • Bobcat Trapping, Hunting Now Closed In District 7

    MILES CITY – As of midnight on March 1, Trapping Districts 4, 5, 6 and 7 are closed to all trapping and/or hunting of bobcats. With the scheduled season end being reached, the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission approved the closure. In southeast Montana’s Trapping District 7, 136 bobcats were harvested out of a winter quota of 600.     Dear Editor, With Montana being #3 in the union with deaths by suicide, and the fact farmers and ranchers are 2 to 1 more likely to commit suicide than other professions, suicide is a subject that needs to be addressed. Our neighboring states of Wyoming at #1 and South Dakota at #7 in suicide rates makes this an even scarier fact. Also, with it being calving and lambing season and agriculture in general being a highly dangerous occupation, we need to do everything we can to try to improve our odds and try to reduce suicide rates.
