The Broadus Hawk Boys basketball team went into the Southern C Divisional Tournament last week seeded first from the 4C conference. The Broadus wrestlers made their way north of Fort Peck Lake last week to the BC Eastern Divisional Tournament in Glasgow. The super division format this year is the first of its kind, with only two divisions dividing Montana, as opposed to the four division format of the past. BOZEMAN — Registration is now open for Montana State University’s Rural Journalism Camp, to be held July 11–16 on MSU’s campus. The camp, presented by the Yellowstone Writing Project and the MSU Continuing, Professional and Lifelong Learning program in Academic Technology and Outreach, is a weeklong residential experience immersing rural high school students in the theory and practice of daily journalism. With the help of Captain Bookbeard (Cody Earley), Barb Mitchell and Kendra Hartman, students were led on a pirate reading adventure. Merry Eloise Kalfell, age 86, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Prairie Community Hospital and Nursing Home. Merry was born in Broadus, Montana on Christmas day in 1934 to Herman and Montana "Monte" Rogge. The doctor told them not to dress her as she would probably not live. Well, they did dress her, and Herman went to the drug store and bought a heating pad to lay her on.
