Dick "Pop" Gaskill was born in Miles City, Montana on April 17, 1947 to Charlie and Ila (Mitchell) Gaskill. He joined two older sisters: Poppy (Slug) Mills and Della (Kenny) Greslin. Dick grew up on the family ranch on Pumpkin Creek, where he ranched and continued to live until he passed on February 23, 2023. Dick married Sherry (Samuelson) Gaskill in 1969.
