After a 4th place showing at the 4C District basketball tournament two weeks ago in Miles City, the Broadus Hawks boys team went on to play in Laurel last week, at the Southern C Divisional Tournament. Josh Stevenson of Olive recently began work with Gibbs Towing, a company out of Glendive, to provide a wrecker service in the Powder River County area. For the past several years, Broadus has been without an organic towing company. Towing duties for those broke down on the highway have gone to those from other areas. Two groups chose the Amanda Gaskill Scholarship Fund: Fantastic Four are Tami and Sierra Bayles, Jen Rosencranz and Janie Calvert. Aubrey Doyle Larson, 87, of Stevensville passed away on Monday February 11, 2019 from complications of multiple myeloma. He had endured this painful cancer for several months. Aubrey was born on June 29, 1931 in Circle, Montana. He was raised there and learned the newspaper trade under the tutelage of his father, Ben M. Larson, who owned and published the Circle Banner for more than 50 years. He attended the University of Montana and did a stint in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Powder River County is now sending out new predator control forms. The new forms are a combined setup with the Dept of Livestock and Powder River County Predator Control, and encompass, fixed wing, helicopter and ground control. These forms are required to be filled out as soon as possible if you wish to continue predator control and returned to the Clerk & Recorders office. The forms supercede all previous permission forms.
