The Broadus Volunteer Fire Department held a meeting on Thursday, January 19th, presented by Cory Cheguis, Custer County Fire Chief. The meeting centered around the possible introduction of an online burn permit system, which Custer County and around seven of the Eastern Montana Counties in the DNRC Eastern Land Office have in place. January 26, 1923 Makes Sorghum Molasses H.D. Frankforter, assisted by his son Dewey, at his home on Baking Powder Sunday, started his mill in operation and manufactured sixty gallons of good sorghum molasses in a period of seven hours. He raised the sorghum cane from two acres of land, and in addition to the molasses has 1,000 pounds of seed.
